Yogi is a word that everyone knows nowadays. It means a man who teaches and practices the ancient Indian wisdom of yoga. A woman who does this is called a yogini. What is meant by yoga nowadays refers almost exclusively to physical exercises, as a balance to the stressful everyday life, to relax and calm the body and the mind. Some yoga styles have already been turned more into competitive sports or have been completely "degenerated" and the principles have been forgotten.
Originally, however, from the philosophical teaching much deeper knowledge is conveyed, which goes beyond body, form or matter. Translated, YOGA means the "union with God" or in other words, the reconnection or remembrance of our original being. Only to have this direct unique experience and to remain anchored in it distinguishes a true yogi.
But what does the figure of a yogi promise on the dream level?
If you see a yogi in a dream, it generally symbolizes experiences of an extraordinary nature that the dreamer is about to experience. These events can be expressed in various ways and certainly support the person in his development. The dreaming person will learn to feel physical and mental processes more consciously and thus look deeper into his own being.
If a yogi in the form of a teacher plays a role in the dream scene, this indicates that the dreamer will have an experience that will bring unconscious inner processes before him with clarity. This is of great importance and can move a lot on all levels of life. In business, the dreamer will not be carried away by the emotions of others, but will remain more calmly in his center. Or even problems in the private sphere in connection with friends and families cannot upset him. Also in the relationship life he attaches great importance to harmony and makes every possible contribution to maintain it.
The dream image of the yogi may also indicate that there is a great longing for the experience of the supernatural and mystical in the dreamer. He seems to have made a resolution to explore what lies beyond the calculable and the foreseeable, and wishes to rise above his own horizon.
If the dreamer sees a yoga teacher in his sleep, this illustrates the psychoanalytical approach to assistance and support on the path of life.
According to psychological dream interpretation, the symbol yogi in a woman's dream also represents a sexual aspect and perceives the image of a male person practicing yoga and assuming various poses as erotic. It leads to the assumption that the dreamer in question is not sexually fulfilled and longs for more sensual closeness and attention.
The yogi, according to the spiritual interpretation, illustrates the image of wisdom that comes to the dreamer. When he himself plays the yogi and diligently practices his yoga postures, this serves as a symbol of a significant new stage on the path of wholeness.
