The term "Vikings" does not uniformly refer to a specific people, but refers to the men from Norway, Sweden and Denmark, in short, Scandinavia. The goal of this loose following was to capture booty and explore new areas of settlement. Wealth was one of the aspects that was paramount.
According to some surviving sources, the Vikings could be seen as medieval terrorists. They took inhabitants of the conquered villages as slaves and took everything they could carry. The houses were burned down in the end.
Popular targets of the Vikings were abbeys and monasteries, because there were not only simple things to loot, like food, but especially gold and silver treasures.
When Vikings grace one's sleep, this symbol serves as an invitation to seek protection from harmful outside influences. It could be hurtful attacks of other people, who, due to their insensitive nature, come up with unkindnesses that are verbal as well as physical in nature.
If men dream of Vikings and one appears in the dream image with long hair in the typical clothing, this represents an enormous desire for adventure on the part of the person in question. If a woman dreams of these Scandinavian marauders, it symbolizes romantic impulses, in connection with the desire for uninhibited passion.
However, if the dreamer plays a nun or a monk of an abbey in the dream, while the monastery is just overrun by Vikings, this augurs a defeat or failure in real life. If one even spies ships of Vikings in one's dream, this indicates a desire for change, which brings more adventure and excitement.
If one sees Viking runes, this serves as advice to the dreamer to keep a certain secret.
According to the psychological dream interpretation, the dream symbol of the Viking usually reveals unconscious aspects, concerning feelings and needs, which come to the surface of consciousness. These things should be brought to the attention of the dreamer in order to digest them in a meaningful way. Professional psychological support could not hurt in this process.
Encountering Viking with peaceful behavior on the dream plane illustrates an inner state of harmony of the sleeping dreamer. Often a dream of this kind can also be understood as a warning, as in the proverb: "calm before the storm". According to this, the dreamer is currently experiencing a very quiet and balanced time, but this could soon change due to this dream.
On the spiritual dream interpretation level, the image of the Viking in the dream augurs fears of the person concerned, which inhibit his spiritual unfolding. He should deal with it more thoroughly, confront his fear and this way he can most quickly dissolve this blockage and relief will soon appear.
