Psychiatry is a place for people with mental difficulties to find rest and be under professional supervision. In the imagination, the term psychiatric is usually present for us the fear of having to completely give up control. In a broader sense, a psychiatric ward is a hospital where mental dysfunctions are treated, rather than physical impairments. It is perhaps because there are some horror stories in movies or lore of stories of sufferers that lead us to have a fearful image of it. These stories are about being tied down or confined against one's will.
The rather disrespectful term "insane asylum" illustrates the disdain and devaluation towards the people who stay in such an asylum.
Generally, psychiatry in a dream reveals the sign that it is the dreamer's longing for relief from his grief and burdens, as well as his search for advice and support. In reality, he feels helpless and unable to cope with his worries alone. For coping with these, he feels the need for assistance from other people. Also, his pride may have prevented him from asking for assistance in a timely manner.
The emerging dream image of psychiatry stands as an expression of the subconscious mind on a certain hint. If in this dream a face familiar to the dreamer is encountered as a doctor on duty, this refers to the fact that one can trust this person and that one will receive support.
If the dreamer appears as a patient in a psychiatric ward in a dream, this illustrates that he does not seem to have his feelings under control and is sailing along completely involuntarily from his up and down moods, like a boat on the open ocean, as if "controlled by others". If the dreamer in the psychiatric dream is just finishing his treatment, this indicates to him that he has gained awareness of his feelings and knows how to deal with them. He can consider himself lucky to have achieved emotional independence from external circumstances.
If the subject works in a psychiatric ward, this is generally interpreted to mean that the dreamer knows how to patiently deal with mental problems.
For the psychological interpretation of this dream symbol, the personal attitude of the dreamer in the conscious waking state is decisive. If he associates a positive feeling with psychiatry, this place represents healing and safety. In real life, there is a possibility of mental retreat in an environment like this, when there is a need for a rest. To block out all responsibilities and obligations for a while and recharge one's batteries with new energy.
If, however, a threat emanates from the dream image of psychiatry, this augurs for psychological dream interpretation that the person concerned has difficulty letting go or is afraid of losing control.
It is not easy for him to dive into the flexible flow of life and to give up responsibilities, to not let everyone dance to his tune all the time. Simply enjoying the course of things with ease is not one of his strengths. We do not have all facets of life in our hands. Without this acceptance, one only makes things difficult for oneself.
From the spiritual dream interpretation point of view, psychiatry at the dream level shows us the desire of the affected person for a quiet place of healing, in which he can rediscover his inner harmony and strength.
