Breathing sifted air as a prisoner in a dream could be a traumatic experience from which one wakes up startled out of the dream. Predominant in all of us is the fear of deprivation of freedom, being locked up in a small room without social contacts against one's will. Assuming that one innocently has to go to the pokey and one finds no way out except to plan an escape or simply lingers in despair over the hopeless situation. All these situations can not only really happen in real life, but also occur in dreams. An escape from a prison can look quite exciting and adventurous, as we know from numerous Hollywood prison movies.
In such a dream there are different roles that can occur: Prisoner, guard, wife, husband, father, mother or child. If a dreamer is innocently in jail, it indicates skepticism or misgivings, from the outside towards him. If the affected dreamer plays however in the dream the role of the visitor in the prison, then this stands for a bad KNOWLEDGE and REPENTANCE. If one is the convict in prison and is visited, it symbolizes that the truth in real life is kept from him for some reason.
If the dreamer escapes from prison to freedom, it indicates the RESOLUTION of his troubles. When he is released from prison in a dream, a new period begins for him in his real life with a new sense of freedom.
If he observes other people coming out of the prison, he will easily overcome his own misfortune.
A prison was also called a PRISON in earlier times and according to the psychological interpretation this dream image represents the current FEELINGS of the person concerned. The dreamer restricts himself by not allowing his feelings and thus feels imprisoned. The subconscious sends a warning signal with this dream that everything must be allowed in order to break out of this inner self-built prison.
Guilt or a sense of duty may also be the cause of this perceived limitation.
Spiritually, when the symbol prison appears to the dreamer, it means that he refuses to take RESPONSIBILITY.
