Egypt, ruler, pyramids, king, palace, authority, power
Around three thousand years before Christ there was an advanced civilization in Egypt, whose powerful rulers are nowadays called pharaohs. But at that time this term meant the royal palace, and it was not until much later that the Egyptian ruler was titled pharaoh, but still not publicly so called as we do today. A pharaoh saw himself as a god and also claimed the status of being treated as such, all-knowing and all-encompassing, even if he was not one.
From the Bible, more specifically from the Old Testament, it is known that all the kings in ancient Egypt were called "Pharaoh". There is an interesting legend and mythical story about pharaohs named Tutankhamun, Ramses or Imhotep, which are known and spread far into European culture.
Popular tourist destinations for this reason are Cairo with its fascinating pyramids, the mighty Sphinx of Giza and also the "Valley of the Kings", which resonate much of this impressive history and culture of Egypt.
If someone dreams of a pharaoh, then certainly burial chambers and treasures or pyramids may appear in the dream image. Perhaps, however, one is also threatened by a curse of the pharaoh because he has disturbed him in his rest for the dead. The dreamer can find out for himself how he stands to the concepts AUTHORITY and POWER.
For the general dream interpretation, the dream symbol of the pharaoh appears as an embodiment of an authoritarian position of power and of a rulership that is human, as well as divine, in the same degree. Probably the dream wants to show that the dreamer in question is gifted to be a helpful and wise leader to others.
An Egyptian pharaoh is nowadays at best still "alive" as a mummy and recorded on historical papyrus scrolls. According to the general dream interpretation he refers to knowledge and wisdom. Or the dreamer himself has a person in his social environment whom he highly appreciates and reveres because of his knowledge and experience.
In this interpretation, the dream image of the pharaoh stands for the exercise of power and domination by a person who stands above the dreamer in a hierarchical level and forces the person to bow to his orders.
If the dreamer finds himself in the role of a leading mentor, this dream image advises caution against arrogance and further warns against abuse of power.
The component of psychological view connected with the dream symbol "Pharaoh" is manipulation and domination. Dream interpretation here gives an indication that the dreaming person does not like to see himself on the same level with others, but likes to put himself above them, which is clearly expressed by the dream figure of Pharaoh.
It shows that the dreamer is subconsciously preoccupied with desires for power and fantasies of rulership, and may even be inclined to self-aggrandizement. This could be going on so deep in the subconscious of the dreamer that he himself is not consciously aware of these processes. However, a confrontation with this subject is definitely necessary.
If the dreamer perceives himself to be restricted in his freedom and that something is happening against his will, then the figure of Pharaoh may appear to him in his sleep. In this context, the pharaoh can symbolize inner rebellion.
An already preserved pharaoh's body, or mummy, can also signal the retention of specific values and indicates that there is a possibility that the dreamer is a conservative person who lives according to restrictive belief patterns and outdated convictions.
Psychologically, a dream in which a pharaoh in mummy form is in the center can symbolize that the dreamer in question wants to immortalize moments and memories from his life and has "mummified" them in his memory so that they are safely stored and he can access them if he wishes.
In spiritual dream interpretation, the dream image of the Pharaoh metaphorically represents mystery. Hidden aspects of one's self as well as self-knowledge are expressed by this symbol.
