Deep abyss, icy cold, being lost, freezing to death, feeling abandoned, seeing no way out
Crevasses are a natural phenomenon that is dangerous and scary - smooth reflecting cold ice, an abyssal crevice and unmanageable how deep it goes. If you are unlucky enough to fall into it, there is probably no way back. You are trapped there without salvation, and yet there is always hope that a daring rescue operation can get someone out of an almost hopeless situation.
A crevasse in a dream certainly gives the dreamer a queasy feeling in the first place, it is quite an uncomfortable stay in the deep ice, where few have found themselves until now, and most importantly, have come out.
Being at the mercy of a glacier in a dream is to be understood purely symbolically. It indicates frozen feelings of the dreaming person, like water frozen into ice. He does not seem to appreciate them penetratingly and is trapped in a rather rational world.
Interpersonal interaction also comes very short with him. The dreamer could benefit greatly from social contact and communication, thereby also breaking down his inner barriers of fear. The cold crevasse of the glacier represents separation, a gaping open in an abyss that splits between two sides, into two poles.
In some dream interpretations the glacier also symbolizes a positive context, namely after great effort the fruits can finally be reaped.
If the dreamer not only sees into the crevasse, but also falls into it, it stands for deeper difficulties, which probably cannot be overcome. But if he is able to climb up the abyss with a lot of effort or is rescued, this reveals an imminent solution of all difficulties from an apparent hopelessness.
In the eternal frozen ice in the dream, swallowed up by unclear depths, the dreamer is made aware that he is fearfully facing his feelings. Due to the increased numbness, the person becomes more and more unreachable. Through broken off contact and missing ability to share, this person becomes more and more isolated. Those who dream of crevasses, of cracks in the eternal ice, which lead into an immense abyss, are mostly afraid of their own feelings. These freeze more and more and become inaccessible for the dreamer. This solidification also affects the interpersonal sphere, the dreamer misses contact with his fellow human beings, sinks into loneliness.
In relationship, the crevasse symbolizes that communication falls short and that this crevasse threatens to widen and the distance to each other becomes greater and greater.
If the dreamer is rescued from the crevasse, it indicates a secret HOPE that he has inside, regarding a good prospect to free himself according to the circumstances from the life situation in which he is frozen or stuck. Even if this indicates the absolute bottom, nothing is ever completely lost and out of everything there is always a solution.
From a spiritual point of view, this dream image points to a way of being SOLID on the spiritual path. Rigid patterns and beliefs oblige the dreamer to be stuck in the same spot and thus one is no longer open to anything new.
The universe may already be rushing to HELP you out of this predicament, even though you yourself may see this situation as hopeless. This symbol asks not to give up and to be allowed to hope for rescue, no matter how bad the situation is. This "rescue" is about spiritual transformation on a spiritual level.
