end of the world, end of everything, destruction of existence, justice, doomsday, revelation
The term apocalypse is derived from the Greek word "apocalupsis" and means "toreveal" or "tounveil." In the religious sense, it refers to the revelation of God, in all his wrath, justice and all-encompassing love. The supreme apocalypse of God, is revealed through Jesus Christ, through whom God revealed Himself to man.
We often refer to an apocalypse as the end of the world, the end of the world, or the end of all life. There were and still are different theories about the approaching end of the world and judging by science, the clock already points to five to twelve and the end of the world thus seems to be near. Humans destroy themselves and ruin the earth, which feeds it. If one believes the biblical revelations of John, the divine harbingers already stand out clearly of the approaching end.
An apocalypse can appear in our dreams in very different ways and only gets its meaning from the feeling conveyed by the dream situation. Floods, forest fires, earthquakes, tsunamis could appear in the dream and all of these could feel like apocalyptic events that could embody the beginning of the end of the world for the dreamer.
The dream symbol "apocalypse" could be considered a possible warning of a dangerous conflict situation in real life. One should be on the alert and caution is advised, otherwise more serious consequences may occur. However, such a dream can also symbolically stand for a new beginning. Only when something old passes away or gives way, the new can emerge.
If it seems unclear to the person concerned in which of the areas of life a new beginning is needed, he should ask himself once whether it would not be advisable to look for a professional change and to take the career completely in a different direction. Perhaps he also feels a dissatisfaction in the private area or a decision is pending. One wishes to make changes, but is unable to do so because one may be too entrenched and comfortable, preferring to remain stuck in old, familiar patterns of behavior.
Here, the person dreaming of the apocalypse may be called to action, to approach the matter with the necessary courage, to dare to take the first step towards change, without hoping that things will change on their own.
From psychological dream interpretation, the apocalypse interprets a basic fearful attitude of the dreamer and characterizes his doomsday mood. He has dual seen fear of the life and as it were fear to lose it and/or is not strong enough around the requirements to be able to stand. Because he does not see himself able to carry on the burden of life, he believes the world could collapse on him. The end of the world is understood as a severe mental upheaval. Often it can be a separation from a close person or new insights that throw all previous values, attitudes, beliefs and goals over the heap and require a fresh start. This development can be frightening for some people.
The dream image "apocalypse" can also suggest having the feeling of losing the ground under our feet. Sometimes we think we cannot withstand what life demands of us and things happen in life that shake us very much in our foundations, so that it really feels as if the world is coming to an end.
In the spiritual sense, it is meant to direct our gaze away from the earthly plane to the metaphysical. It symbolizes the power of the spiritual world.
