If one dreams of being abducted in a dream, this can again be viewed and interpreted in very different ways. On the one hand, it can mean that the dreaming person is a victim of his own doubts and fears, or, on the contrary, the abduction in a dream symbolizes the fulfillment of a heart's desire. In principle, kidnapping is understood as a criminal act, whereby a person is forcibly kept in a place, tied up, and a ransom can also be extorted. Abuse could bloom the kidnapping victim as well as other bad pictures, this we better abstain.
Such abductions also occur in various mythologies or in legends and fairy tales. Like in Greek mythology, where the abduction of Persephone is blamed on the god Hades.
A kidnapping situation has to do with a feeling of powerlessness on the part of the kidnapped person. What does this powerlessness mean to me in real life ? That would be a legitimate question for the dreamer to ask. Or what is my responsibility ?
Now, how do the circumstances reveal themselves in the dream of the person concerned ? If the dreamer himself appears in his dream as a hostage-taker, he probably believes that he cannot get ahead in a peaceful way in waking life and tries to enforce it with blackmail and violence. This does not always have to be about power and money. It could be a hurt ego, or not being able to accept a situation as it is. Under certain circumstances, seeing no way out but to choose this violent path.
If the dreaming person is the victim in the dream, this abduction can be a symbol of his powerlessness to act , but also the desire not to be held responsible for everything for once. If a child abduction occurs in the dream, in real life there is concern about the loss of a loved one or a pet.
For an exact interpretation it is important to look at one's own everyday life, one's own behavior and actions, for example, do I push through my goals with all my might or do I already feel comfortable in being at the mercy of the victim role or is there no energy left to fight?
Usually such abduction dreams are simply associated with the fear that something could get completely out of CONTROL or that something will be taken away from you.
The dream symbol "kidnapping" says that originally you don't have to deal with a real kidnapping, but rather illustrates the FEAR of being abandoned.
It could also be that this dream of abduction indicates excessive FEELINGS OF GUILT to the person concerned, because a pending decision is burdening him. It is about either wanting or having to leave a person. Certainly, this dream image indicates that the current situation is agonizing for the person dreaming and wants to change it.
Psychologically, it is believed that in the dream world are processed fears, worries, but also hopes and desires, which during the day are repressed or do not want to be seen. An abduction dream can indicate an imminent separation. Building on this, everything develops for the better, with long-awaited desires in the immediate vicinity.
The unconscious strives to become conscious, said the famous psychiatrist Carl G. Jung, and according to his point of view, dream interpretation should examine the message that each dream conveys as closely as possible. As he states, a symbol does not veil, but reveals its meaning in time.
A nightmare that is about kidnapping, it is a steering of the unconscious, a way of surrendering to the subject of power. It can also be a sign of a repressed sexual violent experience and the fear of being at the mercy of another person.
Spiritually, the kidnapper in the dream represents a thief of the soul. It should be noted that nothing taken by force is salvific.
